For the out of town readers, the 10 day Calgary Stampede, hailed as the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, attracts over 1.2 million visitors every year, so needless to say it gets a little crazy here. Well It started yesterday and so we made the trip down. With Aisha being a very visual baby, she was in heaven and even took part in some of the fun. So here are a few images from the grounds.
the first connection session was amazing!
a few phone calls back and forth and a couple visits to the weathernetwork’s website, due to the severe thunder storm warning, none of us were sure what to expect…but the night turned out to be incredible. Walking, talking, planning, laughing….Cindy and Peter had a connection with each other that was remarkable to witness. Thanks you two for being perspectiveye’s first connection couple and spending the night with me. I can’t wait till the wedding.

Gabe your work just amazes me each and every time I see it! This is incredible, what a beautiful session! The setting is perfect, the light is marvelous, of course the couple is beautiful, but it’s the moments that you’ve captured, the intimacy and connection between them that I can truly see and feel. Fabulous stuff! Your work is truly an inspiration!

Love this idea. My husband and I just did a session like this for our 5th anniversary. Your are totally right - after going through cancer, 2 kids, 2 career changes, and life.for the last 5 years..it was nice to just slow down and CONNECT with each other…I just wish you could have been the one to take them! (nothing against our photog…I just ADORE your work).
So the idea for this came to us a few months ago as it seemed all of our couples expressed how much they loved the way they felt before the session, during the session and after their sessions. The anticipation and excitement before hand..the intimacy, the love, the “closeness” during and the connection towards each other even days after. Even when my wife and I had a session done last year and were amazed at how it created such a spark between us again. We all get so busy with life, that sometimes we forget to slow things down and just hold your special someone, just look into their eyes, just being together in that moment….just being connected.
And so the connection session was created…enjoy.
Well summer definitely arrived in Calgary on Saturday for Julie and Will’s wedding…the weather was perfect. Thanks you two for allowing me to capture your special day and I hope you stayed “bug free” for the rest of the night.

Yet another amazing session last night. The connection these two had was so visual and honest, it was truly incredible to witness. We meet up downtown in a location I have never shot before and started walking and exploring together. It was beautiful night, exploring and shooting, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Wednesday night. Thanks you two for a great evening and I can’t wait till the wedding in August.

Gabe - Sir, YOU have wicked mad skills. People should just call you “wicked mad skillz Gabe” from now on. We both had so much fun exploring that area with you, and the results are just lovely - especially the puddle shot & your way with said “flair”. I can hardly wait for the wedding pictures!!
